Murata starts shipping smallest Bluetooth module in the world; reaches 500 million Bluetooth modules produced
Murata has begun shipping the latest version of its LBMA series Bluetooth module, which at 3.5 by 3.5 by 1.0 mm is the smallest in the world, 30% smaller than Murata's previous version. Additionally, in the ten years since initiating mass production of the original LBMA series in March 2000, Murata has produced in excess of 500 million units, the highest cumulative production volume of Bluetooth® modules in the world. The original LBMA Bluetooth module was 14 x 10 mm, so today's version represents a 90% reduction in footprint in the last 10 years.

Maxim's DirectDrive II Headphone Amplifier Extends Audio Playback Time in Portable Devices
Maxim introduced the MAX97200, a dual-mode Class H headphone amplifier designed for battery-operated portable devices. This amplifier uses Maxim's proprietary DirectDrive(R) II technology to implement an extremely efficient Class H topology. Nearly 100% more efficient than Class AB amplifiers, the MAX97200 substantially extends audio playback time. Additionally, its glitch-free switching architecture and clickless/popless performance provide end customers with a richer audio experience. The IC measures just over 2mm2, making it the smallest stereo headphone amplifier on the market today. Laird Technologies Releases Two New Wideband Mobile Load Coil Antennas
Laird Technologies announced the release of its two new wideband mobile load coil antennas, the B1322W and the B1360W. The B1322W features a field tunable frequency range of 132-174 MHz. The field tunable B1322W allows the user to obtain a lower VSWR than 2:1 at a desired center frequency. The B1360W does not require tuning and covers 136-174 MHz span with a VSWR of 2:1 maximum. Both antennas have an omnidirectional pattern with vertical polarization, and a maximum power of 100 watts.
